Tributing their years of dedicated support to the club, Bill and Dot Hunter of Shepparton were recently named Shepparton Swans number one and two ticket holders for season 2011.
Presenting the tickets last month, Swans’ President, Metty Selman said the couple’s service to the club has been nothing short of ‘tremendous’.
“Bill and Dot have followed the Swans for nearly 65 years with Bill serving as President for six years in both the sixties and seventies,” Mr Selman explained.
“Dot has also been a tireless worker and supporter of the Swans having served on the Ladies Committee for 26 years.”
Bill was awarded Life Membership with the Swans in 1969, Dot received hers only a year later in 1970, a Premiership year for the Swans.
“Not only have Dot and Bill been leaders and tremendous support for our Club they have been incredibly active in many other areas of the Goulburn Valley community with Bill being awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 1979,” Mr Selman said.
“Dot and Bill were married in 1943 so they are in the habit of making lifelong commitments and the Swans’ Board couldn’t think of two people more deserving of being our number one and two membership ticket holders for season 2011.”
