GOTAFE CEO, Travis Heeney said, “This year we are opening up GOTAFE Campuses across the region over two weekends to allow everyone the chance to discover training opportunities available for next year.

From 10 am until 2pm, GOTAFE’s five campuses will take it in turns open the doors for everyone. The Shepparton Campus on Fryers Street will be open on Sunday, October 14 and Benalla Campus on Samaria Road will be open on Saturday, October 13.

“Open Days will provide you with all of the information you need to take the next step towards your dream career. Now with free TAFE it is even easier than ever to begin study,” Mr Heeney said.

Free TAFE ensures eligible students from across the Goulburn Valley/north east will be able to access free training at GOTAFE in a range of courses that lead to jobs most in demand from Victorian employers.

Through free TAFE, the Victorian Government will cover tuition fees for 20 priority TAFE courses and 18 pre-apprenticeship courses from January 1, 2019 for eligible students.

“Until now, some people may not have been able to afford vocational study. Free TAFE removes the financial barrier for locals wanting to undertake quality, accredited TAFE training that gives them the skills they need to secure real jobs building our state and caring for our community,” Mr Heeney said.

“Our Skills and Jobs Centres will also be open, with career advisors available to assist with your course or job search,” Mr Heeney said.

The list of free TAFE courses available at GOTAFE is growing every week. Visit gotafe.vic.edu.au/freetafe for all the latest.

It is important to note that eligibility criteria apply for free TAFE, and other fees and charges, such as student services fees or materials fees, may also apply. Students can check their eligibility by calling GOTAFE on 1300 GOTAFE or email enquiry@gotafe.vic.edu.au
