If you’ve ever driven through the town of Toolamba, you wouldn’t think it had much going on. But this small town has a strong community hub at the heart of it.

After applying and receiving funding from Greater Shepparton City Council, the Section 86 Toolamba Recreation Reserve Committee was successful in getting and installing exercise equipment around the oval in the hope to keep the community active.

Section 86 Toolamba Recreation Reserve Committee member, Caroline James-Wilson was one of the driving forces behind the installation.

“We wanted something that would be accessible to all ages and all skill levels, and having it around the reserve was ideal as there’s always so much happening here.” Caroline said.

There are four exercise stations spread 100 metres around the oval, including a box jump station, chest/leg/cycle station, step up station and a multi-bench station. All stations have QR codes that provide you with a video instruction on how to correctly use the equipment.

The committee is now looking to further upgrades around the reserve, such as a youth space, extended community hall, and a bubble tap.
