‘HANDS ON’ CRAFT… The community enjoyed the Art in the Park event, held at Emerald Bank Adventure Park on Saturday, March 17. Photo: Supplied.ARTISTRY was flowing through the air last weekend as the Art in the Park event kicked off at Emerald Bank Adventure Park as part of the SheppARTon Festival.
Over 300 aspiring young artists and craftsmen were treated to a day of ‘hands on’ art and craft activities where they got the chance to decorate lanterns, take part in freestyle painting, create mosaic masterpieces with paper, learn how to make chocolates, enjoy the music workshops held throughout the day, browse through specialty stalls, be entertained by live music, hay and pony rides, a climbing wall, mini train and jumping pillow, and tile poles which will live on at the park.
Event Organiser, Cheryl Hammer said, “We would like to thank everybody who supported the day and because of the supportive feedback we received we will continue to improve and build on it and hopefully it can become an annual event.”
The day also saw a Schools Creative Expression Competition where six local schools took part in creative activities with the theme ‘Life on the Farm’ and saw Shepparton East Primary School receive a $350 Bunnings voucher for their win.
