THE Australian Ballet is thrilled to be bringing the much-loved ballet ‘Coppélia’ to regional and remote communities, including Shepparton, this year.

The two hour performance tells the story of two lovers, Swanilda and Franz, and their neighbour Dr Coppelius, an eccentric toy maker who dreams of bringing his mechanical toys to life. Dr Coppelius has a daughter who is not what she seems and Swanilda must rescue Franz from the magician’s sinister doll-filled lair – with the help of some fancy footwork.

Transporting audiences to a magical world, Coppélia is a spectacular production for the whole family to enjoy. Bursting with sorcery and masquerade, romance and high jinks, this is a must see for 2019.

Coppélia will be performed at Riverlinks Westside on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 August. Tickets are available online or through the Riverlinks Box Office on 5832 9511.
