In the health sector, encouraging graduates to consider rural practice is critical to growing the non-urban health workforce. Rural placements are generally associated with better opportunities for hands-on learning, more attention from supervisors and more autonomy. Research suggests that ‘positive, well supervised and supportive rural placements’ positively impact on student intentions to practise in rural locations.

Partners in Training Australia is a local registered training provider delivering training in Health and Community Services for over 13 years. Partners in Training Australia is proud to be one of only 35 tertiary education providers across 84 locations to be selected in the 2020 round for the Destination Australia Program.

The aim of the program is to attract and support international and domestic students to study in regional Australia, to grow and develop regional Australian tertiary education providers and offer students a high-quality learning experience.

Scholarships are valued at $15,000 per student, per year, and will be available for eligible domestic students wishing to undertake the full time HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing qualification at Partners in Training’s regional campus in Shepparton.
