The Victorian Minister for Education, James Merlino announced this week that Hansen Yuncken Pty Ltd has been appointed to begin early work on the new school. The school is to be built on the site of the former Shepparton High School.

Builder, Hansen Yuncken has a significant local presence, having had a base in Shepparton since 1925, with the project to provide construction jobs to local contractors.

The designs, by architects Gray Puksand, support the school’s focus on having the facilities of a big school, while maintaining the feel of a smaller school environment. The architects worked closely with students, teachers and the wider community to gain their input for the design of the new school.

The new college will accommodate between 2,700 to 3,000 students and is being created by merging four existing public secondary schools. The buildings are intended to deliver a state-of-th-art teaching facility. Details about the design can be seen on the Greater Shepparton Secondary College website.

Demolition works on the current site will commence in February 2020.
