Buy local and support your recovery

FOR almost everyone in the region, the pandemic has had some impact in the way we live and work. The speed with which the spread of the disease was arrested and brought to a halt was all down to people working together.

From every level of government, attention is being drawn to the need for Australia to review where we draw our supplies from and how reliant we are on other countries for essential materials.

One outcome has been the quick adaptation some local companies have made to address some of the shortfalls, Med-con manufacturing face masks, Uniklene manufacturing hand sanitiser, Pental producing disinfectants, GV Signmaker making separation screens, SPC increasing production for preserved foods to name but a few.

At the same time, there are any number of local companies manufacturing or supplying locally produced goods that we all use every day.

Independent Member for the Shepparton District, Suzanna Sheed has put out a call to businesses, individuals and families in the electorate to think and shop locally as the economy recovers in the aftermath of strict lock-down measures.

“Every dollar spent locally helps local business, local jobs and the local economy through this incredibly challenging time.” said Suzanna Sheed.

Working together, we can all help each other come through this with the least amount of collateral damage and get back to a normal life.
