Career expo returns

Photo: Alicia Zeqir.EXPECTING more than 1,600 students from 39 secondary schools across the region, GOTAFE Shepparton will next week host its tenth annual Careers Day Out.

Aiming to assist Year 10 students find a suitable career, the not-for-profit event will avail representatives from training and employment organisations to offer industry information and advice one-on-one.

“The students can gain a little insight into what is involved in reaching their ultimate goal or getting that dream job,” GOTAFE Careers Day Out co-ordinator, Larissa Falla said.

“The day will make things a little easier for students to select what VCE subject they will choose to study and give them plenty of pathways ideas.”

Careers Day Out 2011 will be held Thursday May 19 at Shepparton Sports Stadium in conjunction with Health Careers Expo hosted by Goulburn Valley Health.
