TWO locals are lucky to have walked away without injury from a two car collision on the corner of Wyndham and Nixon Streets this afternoon, which was believed to have been caused by lack of attention.
Traffic was delayed for almost 45 minutes after a 23 year old woman driving an Audi A1 and a Toyota Savannah being driven by a 25 year old man collided at 4:15pm, sending the Toyota into the Queens Gardens and flattening a Telstra phone box.
Shepparton Police, Constable Shaun-Maree Brock said, “At this point it is believed that one vehicle has run a red light, but we are still unsure as to who is at fault.
“Alcohol certainly wasn’t an issue but we are still looking at whether or not speed was a factor.
“This is a timely reminder that people need to take extra care on the roads and pay attention to road signals.”
