FOR the second consecutive year, Shepparton’s retail business community will unite for a colourful weekend of fun and entertainment during the 2011 Rainbow Winter Market.
The theme of the market has been chosen again this year as a gesture of continued support for the important work of the Zaidee Rainbow Foundation in promoting organ and tissue donation awareness.
Shepparton Chamber of Commerce Manager, Morry McKellar said, “The theme was well received last year by businesses and the community alike and we’re more than happy to continue it again this year.”
The Rainbow Winter Market to be held on Friday 26 and Saturday, August 27, will be packed full of great shopping bargains and a host of free family entertainment across the city.

On Friday, Melbourne Heart Football Club will be in the Maude Street Mall between 3.30pm and 1.30pm to meet with fans and sign autographs, there will be new season Spring Racing Fashion Parades, a hot air balloon display at Victoria Park Lake featuring Picture It Ballooning as well as city wide bargains, entertainment and more.
During Saturday, a free shuttle bus will run between the Maude Street Mall, Riverside Plaza and the Shepparton Marketplace every half hour from 9am to 2.30pm, 98.5 One FM will also broadcast throughout the day while a number of guest entertainers will perform including well respected television entertainer, Derrik J.
Shoppers will also have the chance to win during the Market festivities with Shepparton ShowMe giving away $5,000 on and before the weekend as well as the specially made Zaidee’s Rainbow Cubby House raffle, which will be drawn during Saturday.
