BEING elected school captain is a great honour and a jumpstart to learning leadership skills for life and as Bourchier Street Primary School’s grade 6 students leap back into the school year, their newly elected school captains are ready to take on the challenge.
With extra tasks to take on such as being responsible for the school assembly, organising different events across the school such as lunch time sporting programs, representing the school outside of the grounds, talking to other students about different issues they may face and showing visitors to the school around the grounds, the four newly elected school captains have many responsibilities to look forward to.
Assistant Principal at Bourchier Street Primary School, Denise Howley said the school captains would be strong leaders of the school.
“The elected students will promote our school very well and are happy caring leaders,” Denise said.
Grade 6 school captain, Edward Adams said it feels great to have been given this opportunity. “I’m very proud of myself for achieving this goal and it is a great honour to be leading the school,” Edward said.
