THE Shepparton Festival kicked off on the weekend, with the Shepparton Shorts Film Festival commencing proceedings on Friday night and the Converge On The Goulburn festival continuing celebrations on Saturday night. Across both nights at Victoria Park, attendees were treated to exciting events that brought together food, culture and performances from Shepparton’s diverse creative community.

With over 60 events taking place throughout the region from March 15 to 31, the Shepparton Festival is an enormous celebration of diverse art, culture and creativity within our community.

On Thursday, March 21, the critically acclaimed storytelling night ‘Queerstories’ will be making its way to Shepparton. Featuring a diverse line up of LGBTQI+ speakers sharing their stories, with a mixture of heart-warming, hilarious, and unexpected tales of lives well-lived and battles fought with pride, prejudice, love and humour.

‘Queerstories’ has been selling out shows around the country for two years, bringing storytellers from all walks of life to the stage. Tickets for ‘Queerstories’ include finger food, wine and networking and are available for purchase at www.trybooking.com/zyym

Many of the events taking place as art of the Shepparton Festival program require tickets and many are selling quickly. For more information, be sure to visit www.sheppartonfestival.org.au or grab a copy of the Shepparton Festival programme booklet from The Adviser office, SAM, Riverlinks, Greater Shepparton Information Centre or any of the other participating business and sponsors.
