Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from Jan Fran

IF YOU are looking to get up close and hear from one of Australia’s top journalists and television presenters, you can’t miss Jan Fran’s talk at the upcoming Shepparton Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Advisory Committee event.

Jan currently hosts The Feed on SBSVICELAND and guest-hosts The Project on Network Ten. She is also the host of the podcasts, Sexism and the City and The Few Who Do.

Shepparton Chamber of Commerce and Industry acting president, John Anderson said, “We are very excited to be bringing Jan to Shepparton.

“She has an extensive career with great experience and I know the community will gain much from her talk.”

Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Advisory Committee member, Fran Smullen said, “John and myself were having a conversation about particular podcasts we listen to and I mentioned Jan Fran’s Sexism and the City and I suggested he listen to it. The next time I saw him he was excited and said that items in her podcast were conversations that the people of Shepparton would benefit from.

“There are three principles that go with our committee, gender equity, diversity and active citizenship of women in society. The works that Jan Fran have done look at each of those issues and place and how location influences women’s experience so it fits in with our committee’s values.

“To partner with the chamber on this is an impressive thing. It’s like businesses saying we have a role to play in this too.”

The event will run on Tuesday, June 4 from 6pm to 9pm at The Carrington, 505 Wyndham Street, Shepparton. Finger food is included and drinks are at bar prices.

Jan (Jeanette) Fran appears by arrangement with Claxton Speakers International.

Tickets are $40 and are strictly limited and available online via the ‘Jan Fran – Sexism In The City in Shepparton’ Facebook event and sheppartonchamber.com.au or at http://bit.ly/SCCIJanFranWCAAAC
