Driving for change in Greater Shepparton

THE Greater Shepparton Family Violence Prevention Network (GSFVPN) will be launching the 16 Days of Activism in Greater Shepparton on November 25, which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women Shepparton.

The GSFVPN is encouraging all members of the Greater Shepparton community to support the 16 Days of Activism Campaign and will be commencing with a media launch on November 22 at La Trobe University Shepparton Campus at 1:30pm.

The GSFVPN will be at Shepparton Spring Car Nationals with a pop-up workshop and information available to highlight gender equity within the automotive and trade industries and increase practical automotive skills with GOTAFE students providing demonstrations on the day.

To expand on the community’s knowledge and awareness of the drivers of gender inequity and violence, GSFVPN is partnering with Women’s Health Goulburn North East to host a Drivers of Change – Business Breakfast on November 30 at Parklake Shepparton. This is a free event and attendees will gain insight into the impact of gender inequity and how to create a workplace culture that values equality.

The GSFVPN is partnering with Shepparton Park Run on Saturday, December 1, with Primary Care Connect being the major sponsor for the event. The event will raise awareness in relation to the impact of violence against women and children and make a stance against violence in our community. The emphasis of the campaign this year is ‘Don’t be a Bystander’ #Callitout.
