PARENTS seeking a place for kids to learn to dance can enrol now at the Goulburn Valley Academy of Ballet for an exciting new year of dance. First classes will soon be underway from Monday, February 4 and girls and boys aged three upwards eligible to enrol. There is a range of dances available to learn, including classical ballet and jazz, as well as introductory dance play for the youngest students.

At Goulburn Valley Academy of Ballet, the classical ballet classes provide an excellent foundation for all movement activities. Performing at the end-of-year concert is always a highlight, with students getting the opportunity to dance in full-length ballets such as ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

Jazz is a vibrant and ever-evolving dance form containing many elements of rhythmic dance from hip-hop, funk, disco and Bollywood. These classes often feature many favourite modern music hit songs.

For the youngest students, dance play provides the perfect introduction to dance and is a fun way to learn. Students get an opportunity to build coordination and movement skills in themed classes where the emphasis is on having fun.

Goulburn Valley Academy of Ballet principal, Melanie Coats said, “Our highly trained and caring teachers love to see the sense of achievement dancers get as they progress from eager newcomers to highly skilled and graceful seniors.”
