Underpinning involves rebuilding the foundations of a house once the house has been standing for a number of years.

Over time, the environment has a nasty habit of shifting the ground beneath our homes, mostly in a managed fashion but at times it can be devastating, with cracks appearing in walls where they shouldn’t be.

It is in these situations that underpinning is likely needed and when it is, it needs experts with the right equipment and knowhow to undertake the work. It is not just another routine building operation.

According to Link Building Systems director, Andy George, “We start the process with a detailed site inspection, looking for the causes of the ground movement so we can develop a program that will stabilise that, then we look at repairing the structure. We have design and engineering plans drawn up and get the necessary permits to undertake the work so the client is fully protected and can be confident that they are getting the best result.”

“When we first start a job, we spend the first day getting the site all fenced to comply with OHS, we make sure we locate all the services and assess all risk hazards aiming to fix the problems and leave the site with minimum disruption.”

Link Building Systems are located at 31 Telford Drive, Shepparton and can be contacted on 5821 4516 for a site inspection.
