The Fairley Leadership Program is now in its twenty-fourth year with some 600 graduates.  The program provides an opportunity for people to develop leadership skills across the Goulburn Murray region. The program is designed to build individual leadership capacity and educate emerging leaders about the challenges and opportunities impacting on the Goulburn Murray region.

Goulburn Murray Community Leadership is committed to the ongoing delivery of the 2020 Fairley Leadership Program amidst the challenges presented by COVID-19. For the foreseeable future, it is envisaged that the program will be delivered online for approximately the next six months if not longer, with the first online scheduled Fairley Leadership seminar day being held on 17 April.

The theme will be ’Regional Futures’ where adaptive leadership and resilience will be explored. Fairley Leadership will be joining with the 2020 Alpine Valley Community Leadership cohort, bringing together a total of 55 emerging community leaders. This simple act of bringing the two leadership programs together provides an opportunity for collaboration across the regions, which is particularly important given the challenging events that have taken place in 2020.

The facilitator of the Fairley Leadership Program, Melissa Seymour said, “The learning objectives for the day, are now more important than ever, as the community deals with daily change and an uncertain environment due to the pandemic.  Participants will learn about the importance of community resilience during times of crisis and how to cope positively with community change.
