Rowing is one of those sports that is perhaps identified as one of the more elite sports in the Olympics. Over the past several games, Australia has managed a number of gold medals in various rowing events.

Building on this natural Australian ability, Shepparton Rowing Club has a number of young people in its ranks that are being groomed for possible greatness in future Olympic meets. The club has a friendly atmosphere. It is family based and has access to a dozen boats of all classes that it has acquired over the years since it was first formed.

The club is looking for new members, people who want to engage in a competitive, non-contact sport that develops a high level of aerobic fitness and balance. Since the club owns all the boats, the fees are modest while the first three instructing sessions are free.

If you would like to have a go at rowing, head on down to the rowing sheds at the south end of Victoria Lake on a Tuesday or Thursday at 4.30pm or on a Sunday morning when they are training.
