FOR this month’s Blast from The Adviser past we went back 30 years to the September 18, 1990 edition.

Making news in September 1990, Shepparton’s Chris and Suzie Retzos were the franchisees of two Shepparton KFC outlets, one of which was relocating next door to McDonald’s on Wyndham Street.

Fitting timing, as just this month (in 2020), the Retzos Group, owned by Chris Retzos and managed by son Stephen, opened their third Shepparton KFC outlet in the North end of town.

The Retzos Group, a local success story, owns a finger lickin’ 54 KFC outlets across the state. Although we’re led to believe the global fast-food giant is halting its ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’ slogan given the current hygiene advice because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
