GREATER Shepparton Connected Community is always looking for ways to give back to the local community and the group is currently taking applications for funding for projects that will benefit Shepparton and surrounding areas.

Last year, Kiwanis Club of Shepparton Sunrisers worked together with Verney Road School to submit a successful application to secure funds utilised to go toward new play equipment at The Sobraon Children’s Respite facility. Through the grants, the project was awarded $11,200, with a further $47,000 from the Victorian Government’s Department of Health and Human Services.

Greater Shepparton Connected Community is a partnership between Bendigo Bank Shepparton and a local board of community members. Any customer who would like to support the program can simply request their new or existing Bendigo Bank account to be tagged as a Connected Community account. Connected Community board then receive an ongoing commission paid by Bendigo Bank, which is at no cost to the customer.

Greater Shepparton Connected Community board member, Glenn Irvine said, “Our board meets to discuss funding projects in March and July. Although we take applications all year round, we believe now is the best time to do it.

“No project is too large or too small; we can assist with funding as little as $150. So long as the proposed project benefits the community, we’d be more than happy to help.”

2019 Bendigo Bank Greater Shepparton Connected Community Grants are now available. To apply for a grant visit www.sheppartoncc.com/grant-application or visit Greater Shepparton Connected Community’s website for more.
