Get your Father’s Day mail in early

This year it is going to be a battle if you intend on posting your Father’s Day card or gift to your father. With the pandemic affecting the country and people looking more and more to purchase online, Australia Post is already inundated with 50 percent more parcels going through the system than previous years.

Auspost have issued a notice to say they anticipate at least a three-day delivery backlog in getting the mail delivered this year.

The last several weeks have seen a surge in mail services that  they are having to make significant adjustments to their operations to keep the mail going.

“For items lodged after Wednesday, September 2, whilst we will try our best, we do not expect to be able to meet delivery for Father’s Day,” Auspost’s executive general manager, Gary Starr advised.
