Goulburn Valley sporting clubs receive grants

FIFTEEN clubs and sporting associations in Shepparton will get a boost, as Mark Gepp, Labor Member for Northern Victoria, announced the local clubs that had successfully applied for funding in the Andrews Labor Government’s 2018-19 Sporting Club Grants Program last week.

The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $2,000 to train coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve operational effectiveness.

Receiving grants for equipment and uniforms are Tatura Amateur Basketball Association, Numurkah Small Bore Rifle Club Incorporated, Goulburn Valley Football League, Shepparton Pony Club, Mooroopna Junior Football Club, Nathalia Golf Club, Picola United Football Netball Club, Shepparton Riding for the Disabled, Shepparton South Soccer Club, Cummeragunja Women’s Football Team, and Shepparton United Football Netball Club.

Receiving grants for training and operations are Nathalia Little Athletics Club, Shepparton Cycling Club, Northern Country Region of Little Athletics Victoria, and Shepparton Amateur Swimming Club.

The Sporting Club Grants Program is part of the Labor Government’s commitment to make sport more accessible and inclusive, increase local participation, stimulate local economies, and build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities.
