AFTER months of planning and preparation, Saturday’s inaugural Riverside Plaza Community Market raised $5,120 for Goulburn Valley Health Ladies Auxiliary.
The group whose members helped out by rattling their shaker tins at the event will donate all of the funds to Goulburn Valley Health’s Oncology Unit Share the Care appeal.
Market event founder and co-ordinator, Peter Copulos also recently donated $300,000 to the appeal and says the market was just the first of many to come.
“We hope to decide in the next couple of weeks when we will hold the next one,” Copulos Group Marketing Manager, Lyndal Ford said.
“Each market will support a different charity and our next one will raise funds for Goulburn Valley Hospice.”
Ms Ford couldn’t number how many attended the event but said community support was overwhelming.
“There were thousands of people there that’s for sure.
“We were just so pleased with how much money was raised. It’s all going to an extremely worthy cause.”
