GV girls tough competition at Vic Country

Photo:  Supplied. GOULBURN Valley Under 17 Girls hockey team qualified for last weekend’s Victorian Country Weekend grand final undefeated. Though they weren’t able to take out the competition against West Gippsland, coach Anne Forester said the girls put up a proud fight.
“We were very proud of all of the girls’ performances,” Ms Forester said.
“All of the players went out and gave it their best shot.”
At half time the team trailed 1-0, but during the second half levelled 1-1.
“Both teams put up a great match and with only a few minutes left on the clock the West Gippsland team got a quick run to slot through a goal and to take the lead,” Ms Forester said.
