Originally opened in November 1997 as a 31-bed hostel, Harmony Village has undergone much change over the years. Recently celebrating its 21st birthday, the award-winning complex has now expanded to an impressive 79-bed space.

To commemorate the 21st birthday, Harmony Village hosted a celebration for its residents, staff and volunteers. On the special day, a cake cut by Melek Seit, a resident who had been living at the residency since its inception.

One of the residents, James Waldron, entertained guests with a performance of live music. There was dancing and residents thoroughly enjoyed singing along to well-known nostalgic hits.

Doutta Galla Aged Services CEO, Vanda Iaconese said, “It was wonderful to get together to celebrate our 21st birthday. It was a joy to see so many residents enjoying themselves, singing, dancing and sharing afternoon tea.”
