Have your say on the future of the region

GREATER Shepparton City Council is currently seeking community input into what the future of the region will look like, through submissions toward the Shepparton and Mooroopna 2050: Regional City Growth Plan.

The plan is being completed in association with the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA), with intent to inform and guide the sustainable development of the Shepparton and Mooroopna urban areas to the year 2050. The growth plan will be used to coordinate, guide and inform the preparation and consideration of future, more detailed local plans, planning scheme amendments and planning permit applications.

A key issues and opportunities paper has been prepared to highlight some discussion points as a platform to promote feedback from the community and other stakeholders. This is the best opportunity for you to get involved and ensure your vision for Shepparton and Mooroopna is realised.

It is envisaged the final growth plan will be implemented through a future amendment to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme in 2020.

Comment toward the plan must be made by Monday, March 25 and can be done by meeting with VPA and council officers to discuss your ideas and learn more at Woolworths/Aldi, Mooroopna (car park side) on Thursday, March 14 between 1pm and 3pm or Riverside Plaza, Kialla on Thursday, March 14 between 4pm and 6:30pm.

You can also leave your feedback using an interactive platform on www.greatershepparton.com.au and https://vpa.vic.gov.au/project/shepparton-mooroopna-2050

You can send written comments on any or all of the issues and opportunities identified in the paper via email to emily.killin@vpa.vic.gov.au or via post to Victorian Planning Authority, Level 25, 35 Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000.
