GREG James, Yorta Yorta elder and candidate for the Greater Shepparton City Council, looks to rivers and creeks across our region as the jewel in our crown.

Seen by some as merely backwater gutters, our city has turned its back on the river and he feels we must quickly address this as a matter of paramount importance for both the natural environment and humanity.

He is concerned about water quality and the unhealthy ecology of the rivers contributed to by unrestrained dumping of rubbish in the waterways.

He wants to educate people on the importance of the healthy rivers and creeks and give people ownership in protecting and advancing these waters.

Greg is looking at all of the options and is supported by Trelly’s Outdoor- Fishing & Hunting owner, Steve Threlfall, along with Victorian Fisheries in seeing that something is done about it.
