How you can help those affected by the bushfires

The community of Greater Shepparton has always been a very generous and giving crowd, and when we see people in need, a large majority of us want to help in whatever way we can.

The nation is currently experiencing one of the largest and most devastating catastrophes in our history, with every state currently on fire or experiencing the after effects of fires and smoke. We have been fortunate enough to have not been too greatly affected by the fires here in the Goulburn Valley, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do our part to help.

Many local charities and organisations are not taking any more donations, but financial help is always needed. The following are some ways you can donate to help those in need during this horrible time:

Victorian Government Bushfire Appeal – www.vic.gov.au/bushfireappeal

Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund – www.gerf.org.au (or make a donation at any NAB branch)

Australian Red Cross – www.redcross.org.au or call 1800 733 276

The Salvation Army – www.salvationarmy.org.au or call 13 72 58

Foodbank Victoria – www.foodbankvictoria.org.au

Bushfire Disaster Appeal – www.communityenterprisefoundation.com.au/make-a-donation/bushfire-disaster-appeal/ (or make a donation at any Bendigo Bank branch)
