Huge cash boost for our hospitals

Services offered by hospitals throughout the region are set to receive a much-needed cash boost, thanks to $237.58 million in funding from the Victorian Government.

Several hospitals in the region will benefit specifically from the funding, with GV Health set to receive $213.79 million and Nathalia, Cobram and Numurkah Health (NCN Health), is set to receive $23.79 million. Other hospitals set to receive some of the funding include $57.19 million for Echuca Region Health, $17.66 million for Kyabram & District Health Services and $7.01 million for Rochester and Elmore District Health.

The announcement was made as part of the Labor Governments record-breaking $11.5 billion investment in hospitals in Victoria. This means hospitals are set to share in 10 percent more funding than the previous 12 months.

The funding boost looks set to help as the population in Victoria continues to rise exponentially, ensuring our hospitals can provide the very best treatment and care to the 1.8 million Victorians expected to access emergency departments in the coming 12 months.
