GREATER Shepparton City Council has recently accepted a tender submitted by Jarvis Delahey Contractors for the road and drainage works of the Balaclava-Verney intersection upgrade.
The upgrade of the intersection at Balaclava Road, Verney Road, New Dookie Road and Hawdon Street (Balaclava-Verney intersection) will see the current roundabout replaced by a signalised intersection.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe, said council was pleased to award the contract to a local, “We are always looking to use local contractors to fuel the local economy,” she said.
The tender submitted by Jarvis Delahey Contractors included detailed methodology, traffic management plans, works schedule and the use of local subcontractors.
The upgrade is part of Council’s 2018/19 and 2019/20 capital programs.
