It’s a great country bake off!

Residents in Echuca are being encouraged to dust off their oven mitts and prepare for the Campaspe Shire Council’s Great Heritage Family Bake Off, with registrations now open.

Campaspe Regional Library services manager, Jenny Mustey said the family friendly competition invites children to bake either a cake, slice or biscuit with help from a parent or guardian.

“The event will take place at the Echuca Library on Monday, September 23 and will be judged by Liz Harfull, bestselling author of ‘The Australian Blue Ribbon Cookbook’ and ‘Tried, Tested and True’ along with Jacq Campbell, who is the coordinator of the Murray River Culinary Challenge,” Mrs Mustey said.

The theme for the bake off is ‘heritage’ and entrants are encouraged to submit a creation of tried and tested old family recipes.

“There are separate age classes for 5-10 and 11-15 years old with fantastic prizes up for grabs in each.

Entry forms and further information is available from the Campaspe Shire Council’s website.
