KDFNL welcomes Shepparton East for 2019

SHEPPARTON East Football Netball Club will be included in the 2019 Kyabram District Football Netball League (KDFNL) fixture, as their membership application was approved after the KDFNL and AFL GM met late last year.

With the inclusion of Dookie United who joined the League in 2018, the KDFNL will now function with a 15-club fixture in 2019.

AFL Goulburn Murray Region general manager, Jamie Macri said, “We want to ensure Shepp East can remain a viable club and continue to positively contribute to that community.

“It was very important to find Shepp East a practical and favourable outcome and thanked the KDFNL for supporting the application.”

“It is important that the KDFNL clubs continue to be well supported and the league administration is given the necessary resources to support the KDFNL for 2019.”

KDFNL president, Fraser Kerrins said, “A lot of work has gone into ensuring we reached a positive resolution as quickly as possible so all clubs can move forward and make plans for the 2019 season.

“Our competition finals structure will remain a final six played over four weeks with our Grand Final to be hosted again in 2019 at Mooroopna Football Ground.”

Jamie said, “It is important to acknowledge the Murray Football Netball League and thank them for being able to provide a home for Shepparton East Football Netball Club in 2018, it has been a tough period for the club and we are hopeful everyone can move forward into 2019 with some clarity.”
