FOLLOWING the recent announcement of a new naming rights partner for the next three years in The Apprenticeship Factory recently, the Kyabram District League (KDL) has released its new look logo and confirmed a new name for the weekly program which will be now known as the ‘5th Quarter.’

Ideas for a new name for the league program were put to the general public for suggestions and there were some terrific ideas put forward, where the board decided on the ‘5th Quarter.’

The suggestion of the ‘5th Quarter’ replacing The Footballer was put forward by Shepparton’s Ron Boyle, who sadly passed away recently.

KDL president, Fraser Kerrins said, “It made sense for the league to re-brand and re-design the logo now we are integrating a naming rights partner for 2019.

“With the wonderful direction and creativity from Steph at Nexis Concept and Design, The Apprenticeship Factory Kyabram District League – KDL as it will now be known, has helped us in the re-branding process with a new logo, which is fresh and fun. It still gives prominence to both football and netball within the design.

“It is with a heavy heart that the league learned of the sudden an unexpected passing of ‘Ronnie’ recently and hope that this will be a warm way for Ron’s legacy to live on.”

Ronnie was an avid Tallygaroopna supporter, with his daughter, son and daughter-in-law playing with the club, then became an avid KDL supporter when his daughter Bree was appointed general manager of the league.

Bree said, “Dad thought it was a great idea and quite fun to come up with all these suggestions.

“He was so excited and couldn’t believe it when he was told his suggestion had won, that his idea had actually been taken on board. And this just another legacy in another local sport he leaves.”
