FORDS Coach Travel in Shepparton are giving you the chance to experience the best of Australia’s landscape during their 2011 Lake Eyre Tours.
There choices of tours available include a six or an eight day adventure, giving you the opportunity to take in breathtaking Lake Eyre, the spectacular Flinders Ranges and the opal mining township of Coober Pedy.
Departing on Sunday, July 31 Fords Coach Travel’s eight day tour will follow the roads along the winding Murray River enroute through the Sunraysia City of Mildura and along the historic Sturt Highway to Barmera. From here you will travel onto Hawker at the southern point of the Flinders Ranges. Experience the open cut coal mining industry near Leigh Creek and pass by the famous Birdsville track.
Stay at Marree for two nights and enjoy the highlight of the tour, a two hour scenic flight over Lake Eyre. Due to the enormous volume of rainfall in the channel country, you will have the chance to experience the rare sight of Lake Eyre at peak capacity from a breathtaking aerial perspective.
Visit the remote outpost of William Creek with its population of less than 10. From here you will cut across past Anna Creek making your way to Coober Pedy, one of Australia’s most unique opal mining towns, before making your way to the gateway city of Port Augusta to visit the Wadlata Outback centre.
Enjoy the city of churches in beautiful Adelaide before returning home to Shepparton.
This once in a lifetime outback experience includes coach travel, accommodation on twin/double share basis, evening meals, cooked breakfasts, 1 lunch and entry fees as per itinerary including Lake Eyre scenic flight and GST.
