Bowel-Scan---John-Anderson2EVERYONE over the age of forty should have a bowl scan regularly says Shepparton Pharmacist, John Anderson highlighting a need to intercept colon cancer as early as possible.

With one death caused by the disease in Australia every two hours, Australian Rotary Health is promoting the tests by availing Bowlscan kits at local pharmacies for $10 during May.

“Early detection will mean a complete recovery for most so that’s why these tests are so valuable,” Mr Anderson said.

“Last year we sold around 180 tests and from those five returned positive. These people where then able to undergo further tests and be treated accordingly.”

Mr Anderson said the test isn’t as difficult and is done in the privacy of one’s own home.

Tests should be returned to the pharmacy of purchase to be sent away for analysis by mid-June.
