Lock 26 closed for maintenance issue

AN issue has emerged at Torrumbarry Weir’s Lock 26 which requires its immediate closure.

A valve used in the lock’s operation has been identified as faulty with the full extent of necessary repair works yet to be identified.

Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) manager dams operations north, Tony Beamish said, “It will mean recreational water users will be unable to use the lock to travel up or downstream until the lock is back in operation.

“We have informed local vessel operators of the lock closure and will continue to keep users informed on expected timeframes once known.”

This temporary closure of the lock will not affect the normal operation of Torrumbarry Weir in terms of river flow and water supply.

If any vessel operators or visitors to the area would like more information on the lock closure, please phone GMW on 1800 013 357 or go to www.gmwater.com.au
