Reminiscent of the flavours of Europe, cured hams like they do in a small village outside of Venice, antipasti like they make in Taormina, Sicily, or pasta sauces like they do in Naples, cheeses like they make in the Swiss Alps, kalamata olives like they are from the groves in Greece, or spicy Bulgarian salami. They all come together at the deli and the best of them all are at Europa Deli and Café in Shepparton.

The deli would have to be my favourite shop. When I am there I think about a lazy Saturday afternoon with some friends, a table of delicious repast from the deli, some wine and the warm sunshine filtering through the vine leaves.

When I go into Europa Deli and Cafe, there is the welcoming attention of the family of people behind the counter, ready to help me make my selections from the wide range of choices, the variety of biscuits and continental foods or to serve me up with a coffee or one of their delicious sandwiches.

Getting ready for these lazy summer days over Christmas, the owners of Europa Deli and Café, Joe and Anna Mallamaci have put together a selection of hampers that can be offered as gifts or serve as a ready made Mediterranean picnic hamper when you get together with friends on your lazy Saturdays.
