Preparations are being made ahead of Shepparton Running Festival this weekend, one of the longest-running marathon events in regional Victoria.

Following the success of last year’s event, which saw more than 800 runners put their feet to the pavement, the event includes a 42.2km Shepparton Runners Club marathon, 21.2km Visit Shepparton Half Marathon, 10km Run/Walk, 5km Pink Ribbon Run/Walk and a 2km McDonald’s Kids Dash.

Last minute event registration, including entries and bib collection, will open at the northern end of Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton on Saturday morning, August 24, from 10am until 3pm. All entrants who do not already have their bib are encouraged to collect before 3pm.

Then on Sunday, August 25, half of Wyndham Street will close for the commencement of an enormous day of outdoors fun, running and walking. The information desk will be open from 6am, with the main marathon commencing at 7am.
