Maude Street works begin

INITIAL construction works on the Maude Street amenities, plaza and bus interchange redevelopment have kicked off, with changed conditions in the area expected until the first stage’s completion in six months time.

The Public Amenities building will be the first construction activity to commence. This facility includes male and female toilets, unisex toilets, an accessible adult change room, a parent’s room with areas for breastfeeding, a toilet and baby change tables.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure, Phil Hoare said, “We are aiming to have the Public Amenities building completed by mid-year which will provide the community with these much needed modern facilities in this area.

“The adjoining landscaped plaza area will also greatly enhance the amenity of this area and I believe the community will be pleased with the end result when works are complete.”

The plaza area, streetscape and bus interchange works will also begin in the coming weeks.

“It’s great to have two local contracting firms working on this great project,” Mr Hoare said.
