Missing boy, Luke Shambrook, located alive

AFTER having been missing in the Lake Eildon area since 9:30am on Good Friday, 11 year old, Luke Shambrook was located alive this morning at 11:55am.

Luke’s beanie had been found yesterday in the direction he was last seen heading and reports had come through of a sighting on Sunday.

The boy was found on the south side of the peak of Auciferous Spur, 2.25 kilometres from Devil Cove, the bay of the lake near Candlebark Campground, where Luke the family had been staying. He was spotted by an airwing helicopter this morning sitting on the side of the hill, close to where black beanie.

Luke, who was last seen leaving the Candlebark Campsite in the Fraser National Park near Lake Eildon where the family had been staying, has been taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and was believed to be suffering from hypothermia and will be flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital for further observation and treatment.
