MISSING Kialla man, John Anderson has been found by the road around Toolamba yesterday afternoon, after being reported missing since 6:25am on Monday morning.
The alarm was raised after customers attended the Caltex service station in Mooroopna, where the 63 year old works, to find it unexpectedly closed, and even more peculiar was the fact that John didn’t follow his morning routine of visiting the local newsagency and picking up the day’s newspapers.
John was located through a chance encounter by two council parks and recreation staff, Katie Wallace and Paul Dainton, who were conducting roadside checks.
Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham of Shepparton Police said, “Mr Anderson was located down near Bridge Road, Toolamba yesterday just before 3pm.
“There was no indication of foul play, but once Mr Anderson is fit and well we will sit down with him to determine why he was out there. When he was found he was reasonably well. He was a little tired and dehydrated but we don’t believe he suffered any injuries.
“We’d like to thank all of the volunteers from SES and Shepparton Search and Rescue and all the members of the public who assisted and helped out, especially the business owners and operators in McLennan Street, Mooroopna.”
