If you’ve driven past the Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton in the last month, you would have noticed the new Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) starting to take shape.

The $49.9 million project is well underway and work is progressing well with the Level Two deck poured last month and Level Three almost ready for the next concrete pour.

Stage 1 works are on track to be completed by mid 2020. Stage 2 will see the car parking and landscaping done, and is due to be completed late 2020.

The new five-storey SAM will be more than just an art gallery. It will include a community hub, Kaiela Arts and the Shepparton Visitor Information Centre, a café, workshop spaces, a bar and event space, and a rooftop viewing deck.
