AMBULANCE Victoria is encouraging Goulburn and Murray Valley residents to take out ambulance cover after membership fees were halved from July 1.
The State Government’s fifty per cent fee reduction means Victorian memberships now cost $75 a year for families, down from $150. Single memberships are down to $37.50 from $75.
Around two million Victorians are members of the Ambulance Membership Subscription Scheme and are protected from ambulance transport costs that can exceed $900.
State Member for Northern Victoria Region, Wendy Lovell says every Victorian should be a member.
“To treat and transport patients in emergencies is an expensive exercise,” Ms Lovell said.
“There is now simply no reason to risk being caught without Ambulance Victoria membership.”
The price cut is part of a four-year $241.9 million State initiative.
The State will also deliver 340 additional ambulance staff across Victoria over the next five years.
For more information, or to purchase an Ambulance Victoria membership go to: www.ambulance.vic.gov.au or call: 1800 648 484.
