LA TROBE University has announced a new course for its Shepparton Campus in 2012.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Work Ready Bachelor of Arts comes as a result of suggestions heard at La Trobe’s Arts Community Forum last year.
A spokesperson for the university said the course builds on the traditional Bachelor of Arts.
“Additional subjects will include work integrated learning and specific career development that will aim to transition students from university to the workplace,” the spokesperson said.
“The Diploma of Arts is a one year diploma offered to students and offers an introduction to post-secondary study of humanities and social sciences.
“The diploma is especially designed for students who are not ready to undertake a full three year degree. Successful completion of the diploma will provide a pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Arts.”
