New regional hub and integrated senior secondary school

Dear editor,

As already stated, the site of Shepparton High School is quite unsuitable for expansion. The plans need to stop and change direction now!

A new large area should be acquired by the state government on the eastern outskirts of Shepparton, or a part of the old Radio Australia site at the end of Verney Road, for a new school.

Suzanna Sheed MP and Wendy Lovell MP: please promptly inform the Minister of Education of the long-term disaster ahead unless a new integrated senior secondary school is built instead on a new large site. Students should not be moved until it has been completed.

The school needs a series of consultation papers listing new curriculums, including onsite technical skill equipment and associated career pathways linking to Shepparton GOTAFE and La Trobe University to be provided first. WIFM (what’s in it for me) on why it suits our unique Goulburn Valley area’s future direction needs to pass stringent tests first.

It is not too late to do all of this. Stop and change the site immediately!

Yours sincerely,

Marshall Richards

Shepparton.
