ORIENTATION Day for the first intake of Year 7/8 students was held at Shepparton ACE College on Tuesday, December 11. Students initially started the day with a tour of the school, followed by activities that introduced them to their teachers and fellow classmates.

After this session, students participated in a hospitality class where they made Malteaser muffins and had the pleasure of tasting the creations, which were enjoyed by all.

Before lunch they engaged in a design and technology activity where they were given electronic components to construct a device that produced light and sound.

The students ordered pizza for lunch and enjoyed eating together for lunch. After lunch the students engaged in a half hour session of silent reading that was rewarded by a trip to Star Bowl to test their skills.

Upon return, the students reflected on their day and their initial experiences, focusing on the benefits and highlights of being in a secondary college.

This was the first time Shepparton ACE College, a newly registered Year 7 to 12 Secondary school, has had a Year 7/8 class. It was a wonderful day and the college looks forward to their return next year.
