Recycling unwanted televisions

Moira Shire: After the analogue television signal was turned off on Thursday, Council has encouraged residents to recycle unwanted televisions at local transfer stations.
Cobram, Yarrawonga and Numurkah transfer stations will accept unwanted televisions for an $8 fee.

Community plans for the future

Murchison: Murchison Community Plan steering group members met for the first time recently to determine the next stages involved in developing a strategic plan for the town.
After consultation with the group a draft community plan will be developed before its exhibition for community feedback.
Greater Shepparton community plans have already been developed for Dookie, Merrigum, Undera, Tatura, Mooroopna and Toolamba.

Legal centre granted 12 months

Shepparton: Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre pilot program providing free legal advice was last week granted funding allowing it to continue over the next 12 months.

GV Highway bridge works

Tocumwal: works to a Goulburn Valley Highway bridge about 2kms south of the Murray River at Tocumwal began on Monday.
The upgrade to improve safety for motorists on the bridge means traffic will be restricted to one lane between 7am and 5pm throughout the upgraded due for completion by mid-June.
