THE Shepparton Parkrun participants were lucky enough to be able to run alongside long distance running champion, Steve Moneghetti at the weekend, who was here to speak at the Rotary Conference.
Shepparton Parkrun Event Director, Allan Connolly said, “Having Steve at our Parkrun broke many of our records. Our attendance record was broken and now stands at 123. Steve also broke our course record in a time of 16.26 and helped many of our runners to new personal best times.”
Shepparton Parkrun is a free weekly timed event for runners and walkers of all standards, which takes place Saturday from 8am at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton. It is a free community event open to all members of the community, which has been running since January this year. To take part in the weekly Parkrun event, register online at www.parkrun.com.au/register, print out your barcode and drop down at Victoria Park Lake on Sundays.
