AN amazing wall mosaic that has been created to celebrate a variety of cultures and their unique contributions to our local community is set to be unveiled on Friday at 1pm at the South Shepparton Community Centre as part of the People, their Culture and Journey project.
Shepparton Access and the South Shepparton Community Centre will launch the wall, which has brought together a diverse range of people who were experiencing social isolation due to personal circumstances, culture and disability.
Shepparton Access CEO, Wendy Shanks said, “The project has also resulted in building self-esteem of the participants and now they have the confidence to enrol in a variety of programs at both the South Shepparton Community Centre and at Shepparton Access.
“The launch of the wall mosaic will celebrate the contribution of many people into the finished work and will provide an opportunity for the local community to gather and appreciate the struggle of many in our community to settle into day-to-day life and to become valued members of our community.”
The People, their Culture and Journey has been a joint project of the Greater Shepparton City Council, South Shepparton Community Centre and Shepparton Access.
